The Ezekiel Elliott saga continues to thickens in Dallas, as the RB continues his contract holdout.
As reported by Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, Jerry Jones is primarily concentrating on making sure a deal in in place for Elliott to compete in the post-season, should the Cowboys get there. According to the source Jones said:
“We’ve got a marathon here. We want Zeke when we get to the playoffs. We want Zeke when we’re in the dog days of the season.”
A solid argument can be made that a RB, with the usage of Elliott, could benefit from playing fewer games in the regular season to get their body ready for the post-season. However, with less then two weeks the opening kick-off against the Giants, the hope remains that the two side will find a deal before Week 1.
