It sounds like Antonio Brown’s retirement and return to college aren’t working out like he thought. Sources have told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that AB wants his off field issues resolved so he can play again.
The NFL are currently conducting an investigation into sexual assault and sexual misconduct claims by 2 separate women. There is no update into where the NFL is in their investigation other than Brown saying he has not yet been questioned.
The NFL are believed to be taking their time researching the claims since Brown is not an active player. If Brown were to be signed to a roster before the investigation is concluded he would be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list.
Due to the nature of the claims, there is no way any team would sign AB until the investigation is complete with a positive conclusion for Brown.
Brown has been keeping up his elite training with hopes to return. According to Dan Sileo, Brown has penned a letter to Patriot’s owner Bob Kraft to apologize for his online rant after being released. Should he be cleared, AB would either re-sign with the Pats or go to another elite team.
