Clay Matthews Out At Least 4 Weeks With Broken Jaw / Brandin Cooks In Concussion Protocol

The Los Angeles Rams announced linebacker suffered a broken jaw in last nights loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He will have surgery and is expected to miss at least 4 weeks.

The injury came when Matthews was trying to tackle Seahawks RB Chris Carson. When Matthews dove after Carson he was hit in the jaw by the RB’s heel.

This is a pretty massive blow to the Rams pass rush. Matthews was on track for career numbers with 6 sacks in 5 games.

Rams WR Brandin Cooks has been placed in the NFL’s concussion protocol and is day to day.
