As Rapoport points out, it was Nolan who hired Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy in San Fransisco.
Rod Marinelli knew he would not be retained by the Cowboys as defensive coordinator under McCarthy.
“I am going to be fine,” Marinelli said via Pro Football Talk in a text message Monday morning. “It’s not like they’re sending me back to the jungle of Vietnam. Back on the Gridiron highway.”
Also, as reported by Rapoport, McCarthy is open to keeping Kellen Moore as his offensive coordinator in Dallas. He really likes the job he did this past season.
