The Cowboys and running back Ezekiel Elliott have agreed to a six-year, $90 million contract extension that makes him the highest-paid RB in the NFL, per Ian Rapoport and Jane Slater.
Elliott, who has held out all of training camp for a new contract, will be able to practice today and could still be on track to play Sunday against the New York Giants.
Rapoport adds the contract includes $90 million in new money with $50 million guaranteed. In all, it’s $103 million over eight years. Elliott leaps Rams RB Todd Gurley, who makes $14.375 million per year.
Last season, Zeke had 304 carries with 1,434 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns in 15 games. He added 77 receptions and 567 receiving yards with three receiving touchdowns.
