Dallas Cowboys Interested In Mike McCarthy, Have Interviewed Marvin Lewis

While the Dallas Cowboys have not officially moved on from head coach Jason Garrett, they have begun their search for his replacement.

The team plans to interview ex-Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy in the coming days. McCarthy hasn’t coached in the NFL since he was fired by the Packers during the 2018 season and he’s already interviewed with the Cleveland Browns. McCarthy is seen as the most accomplished coach available. Further, with his development of Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, he is seen around the league as a Dak-friendly hire.

In addition to McCarthy, Dallas has interviewed former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis. Lewis was head coach of the Bengals from 2003 to 2018 and is currently a special advisor to the Arizona State Sun Devils. In 2009, he was named AP Coach of the Year. Lewis boasts a 131–122–3 regular season record but has never won a playoff game, going 0-7 in the postseason.
