Mason Rudolph was looked at as the possible heir apparent to Ben Roethlisberger earlier this year. Unfortunately he just hasn’t looked like a good professional quarterback and the entire Steelers offense has struggled mightily.
Last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, Rudolph was benched in favor of Devlin Hodges.
Hodges, an undrafted rookie out of Stamford, played well enough to take over as the Steelers starting quarterback. He doesn’t appear to have the skill set to keep the job next year when Big Ben returns but he will be an upgrade over Rudolph.
