After tragically losing her wife in a side-road accident less than a week ago, four weeks after the birth of their child, Cleveland Browns DT Chris Smith will play tonight’s Monday night football game against the Jets (report by Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland.com).
the defensive tackle commented on the decision: “I am going to play tonight because it is something, she would want me to do, She would want me to keep doing what I love and stay strong. I play for her tonight. She is my why“.
What happened to Smith is an absolute tragedy, we are glad to see the team and the league are supporting him in any way possible.
