The Eagles offered Jordan Howard and a swap of mid-round picks to the Chargers for holdout running back Melvin Gordon, according to Albert Breer.
In the deal, the Chargers would have had to eat salary and rejected the offer.
Since the Chargers have tabled contract extension talks with Gordon until the offseason, his only way out seems like a trade. The problem is the Chargers want a first and fifth round pick in exchange and the team acquiring Gordon would have to be willing to give him a big contract extension.
Per Breer, that’s why there simply hasn’t been much action.
