Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones had some interesting comments Thursday when speaking to members of the media.
“I don’t know,” when asked if he’ll play on Sunday regarding his contract situation per Jason Butt. Jones also mentioned he’s a little sore, hinting at an injury situation.
In a follow-up, Butt noted that Jones said he “plans on playing” but seemed to leave it up in the air by saying “I don’t know,” as to if he will actually play Sunday.
Jones, 30, is believed to be very close to a contract extension with the Falcons to make him the league’s highest-paid wide receiver. These new comments, however, are concerning.
Falcons play Week 1 on Sunday against the Vikings.
