Could it be? A week in the NFL without a major fantasy relevant player getting terribly hurt? There were the normal bumps and bruises but it looks that way. There are some minor injuries to keep an eye on for guys like David Johnson and Patrick Mahomes so I’ll be addressing some options below.
Quarterback
Gardner Minshew – Minshew has put up solid points all season and gets the New Orleans D week 6. Grab him and start him with confidence.
Sam Darnold – Recovered from mono and ready to roll. The Jets offense will also get a bump from the returning TE Chris Herndon.
Running Back
Chase Edmonds – Like I said, David Johnson is questionable. If DJ misses this week Edmonds would be a nice RB2 to help with your bye week blues.
Ito Smith – Ito and fellow Falcon’s RB Devonta Freeman have been equally spitting carries. Smith has more PPR value but gets a jump this week against the Arizona Cardinals.
Wide Receiver
Will Fuller – Fuller absolutely blew up last weekend with 217 yards and 3 TD’s on 14 grabs. He is a boom or bust guy but is worth the pick up.
DJ Clark Jr – Clark has a great rapport with Minshew and is the Jaguars number 1 receiver. Like Fuller he blew up last weekend but unlike Fuller he has quietly been putting up nice numbers all season. He looks like a WR1 the rest of the way.
DeSean Jackson – If your league-mates dropped D-Jax while he was injured you should pick him up. The Eagles offense needs him and he is questionable to return this week. If he’s out it’s better to get him now than to wait until next week.
Tight End
Gerald Everett – I don’t love Everett’s matchup this week against San Francisco but he has been getting more attention from Goff. He is a worthy streamer this week if your TE is on bye.
Hunter Henry – The often injured TE for the Chargers will not be back this week but next week looks promising. If you have the chance to beat your rivals to getting Henry you should do it this week. He will be a priority add next week.
Defense
Washington Redskins – The Redskins head coach has been fired and they have not won a game this year. It doesn’t matter, they play Miami this week!
