NFL Tells Cowboys Tripping Penalties Were Wrong, Jason Garrett On Jones’ Frustration

The NFL reviewed the two tripping penalties from the Cowboys-Patriots game on Sunday and told the Cowboys on Monday they should not have been called.

The one called against center Travis Frederick on Dallas’ final drive nullified a third-down conversion by Ezekiel Elliott. Two plays later, the Cowboys turned the ball over on downs.  Dallas of course went on to lose the game 13-9.

Head coach Jason Garrett offered no comment on the penalties but he did respond when asked about Jerry Jonescritical comments:

“We just got to focus on coaching as well as we can and playing as well as we can,” said Garrett h/t Jon Machota. “There certainly were some things in the game that we have to get better at. We’re going to work on that as a staff and as a team.”
