Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is “good to go” for Week 1 against the Rams, according to the team’s general manager Marty Hurney per David Newton.
Newton was not limited during the media portion of Monday’s practice.
Newton, 30, suffered a mid-foot sprain in his left foot during the Panthers’ preseason Week 3 game. He left the stadium in a walking boot, which was precautionary.
He played in a career-low 14 games last season when he completed 67.9% of his passes for 3395 yards and 24 touchdowns to go with 13 interceptions. He added 488 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
