The Patriots have “kicked the tires” on free agent wide receiver Antonio Brown. There have apparently been discussions about bringing him back.
Brown’s story is well-known. He never played a regular season game for the Oakland Raiders before being signed by the Patriots. He played in one game and was released after allegations of sexual misconduct.
The rumor is that quarterback Tom Brady did not like how the Patriots were so quick to move on from Brown. He’s been frustrated with the offense all year.
The Pats are hurting at wide receiver with Phillip Dorsett out with a concussion and Mohamed Sanu dealing with an ankle injury. However, Brown’s standing with the league is not good and his return would certainly generate negative publicity. This could make the move near impossible.
