The New England Patriots have signed wide receiver Antonio Brown, reports Adam Schefter.
The deal is a one-year contract worth $15 million and includes a $9 million signing bonus, per Schefter. The Patriots will go into the season with a wide receiver core of Brown, Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman.
Brown, who was released by the Oakland Raiders earlier today, responded to the news on Twitter:

Brown had a tumultuous tenure with the Raiders to say the least. He missed the start of training camp due to frostbite on his feet by wearing the wrong footwear in a cryotherapy machine. He then threatened retirement over the helmet he was not allowed to wear, losing separate grievances on the issue.
Earlier this week, Brown threatened to hit Raiders GM Mike Mayock in the face after a verbal altercation. He apologized to the organization but they still opted to take away the guarantees from his contract. That resulted in the Raiders cutting him and the Patriots were there to pick up the pieces.
