Raiders Officially Cut RB Doug Martin With Injury Settlement

by

The Raiders have released running back Doug Martin with an injury settlement, reports Field Yates.

Last month, there was confusion about Martin’s status as it was first reported he had been released but later clarified he had been placed on injured reserve. The intent all along was to place him on IR with the intent of releasing him with an injury settlement.

Martin, a former first-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is dealing with a shoulder injury. Once healthy, he can sign with any team. The Raiders could bring him back but would have to wait a minimum of three weeks to make that transaction.

Last season, Martin rushed for 723 yards on 172 carries with four touchdowns.
