Saints QB Drew Brees, who hasn’t played since suffering a torn ligament in his throwing thumb in Week 2, has already started throwing. Brees posted the following on his Instagram:

Brees had surgery to repair the injury last month in Los Angeles. The surgery went perfect.
Brees, 40, has spent his last 12 seasons in New Orleans and is entering the final year of a two-year, $50 million contract that includes $27 million guaranteed.
