Scott Turner To Interview With Redskins For Offensive Coordinator Position

by

Panthers offensive coordinator Scott Turner is scheduled to interview with the Washington Redskins for their vacant OC position. While incumbent Kevin O’Connell remains the frontrunner for the job, Turner could end up the team’s quarterbacks coach if he doesn’t get the offensive coordinator job.

The Redskins have struck first in their attempt to rebuild their coaching staff after hiring Ron Rivera as head coach with Rivera immediately bringing on Jack Del Rio as his defensive coordinator.

Scott Turner was Rivera’s QB coach in Carolina until Rivera was fired. At that point, Turner was promoted to offensive coordinator with his father, Norv Turner, taking on a different role.

Norv Turner served as the Redskins head coach from 1994-2000.
