It’s being reported by Alabama State Police that former NFL player Tarvaris Jackson has died following a single vehicle accident. Jackson was driving alone Sunday night when he lost control and struck a tree. He was transported to a local hospital where he passed away from his injuries a short time later. No further information was released as the investigation is still ongoing.
Jackson was a 2nd round draft pick for the Vikings in 2006, where he would spend 5 years. He would then go on to play for the Seahawks and Bills. In 2013, he returned to the Seahawks on a 1 year deal that saw him win Super Bowl XLVIII in relief of Russell Wilson in the 4th quarter.
After hearing the news of his passing, Pete Carroll had the following to say of Jackson:
Tarvaris Jackson was a beloved teammate, competitor, and Seahawk. He will be deeply missed. So heartbroken by the news of his passing and sending our condolences to his family and friends. We love you forever @7tjackson
