Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Drew Lock will make the first NFL start of his career on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Lock, a second-round draft pick in this year’s draft, will be the third starting quarterback for the Broncos this season. Joe Flacco was placed on injured reserve with a herniated disc in his neck.
Lock was just activated from injured reserve on Saturday as he suffered a right thumb injury back in August and was unable to practice again until Nov. 12. To make room for Lock on the active roster, the team waived quarterback Brett Rypien.
The 3-8 Broncos host the 4-7 Chargers at home on Sunday.
