Byron Jones Returns To Practice, Update On Cowboys Offensive Line

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Byron Jones participated in his first practice of the offseason on Monday after being activated from the physically unable to perform list. Head coach Jason Garett told members of the media the idea is to bring him along slowly.

“He’s going to slowly get back into it and just kind of see where he is,” Garrett said via Todd Archer. “He’s been working really well on the side. It’s time for him to get going again, so he’ll be out there for part of practice.”

Neither offensive guard Zack Martin nor offensive tackle Tyron Smith are expected to practice this week, however, they are expected to be ready for Week 1. The same is true for wide receiver Amari Cooper, who has been battling a heel injury.

The Cowboys will face the New York Giants at home in Week 1 on September 8.
