Patriots Center David Andrews Hospitalized; Season In Jeopardy

New England Patriots center David Andrews was hospitalized with a blood clot in his lung, reports Jeff Howe.

Jim McBride reports he has been released after treatment.

Andrews is expected to miss a significant amount of time due to the ailment, with the initial report suggesting he could miss the entire 2019 season.

Pro Football Focus listed Andrews as the No. 17 center out of 39 qualifiers last year. He’s a team captain for the Patriots and is very important in relaying Tom Brady’s blocking assignments.

Ted Karras will take over for him at center.
