What a year for quarterbacks. While it was thought Cam Newton was day-to-day and not week-to-week, it seems the later is more likely. The Athletic’s Joe Person reports Cam Newton will miss 4-8 weeks with a lisfranc.
This explains Cam’s poor play to start the season and why he was so immobile. Cam is said to be avoiding surgery but will be wearing a walking boot and rehabbing.
Carolina has a week 7 bye, so look for week 8 to be the earliest we see Newton play. With Kyle Allen’s great play it is a possibility Cam could miss the rest of the year to fully heal his body.
