The Cleveland Browns have released defensive end Chris Smith, as reported by Tom Whiters of the Associated Press.
Smith was with the Browns for the last two seasons and played sporadically. He didn’t play this past Sunday against the Steelers, even if the Browns had a depleted secondary due to suspensions and injuries.
Smith made the news earlier in the year when his girlfriend, and mother of his infant daughter, was struck and killed by a drunk driver on September 11th.
