Cowboys And Ezekiel Elliott Not Close To Extension After Negotiations Stall

A deal between the Dallas Cowboys and holdout running back Ezekiel Elliott is not close, according to Jane Slater.

Charles Robinson, who reported the two sides were close to completing an extension over the weekend, reports negotiations hit a snag on Sunday. Dallas was reportedly frustrated over the last exchange and expected more compromise to get a deal done.

At this point, it’s looking highly unlikely Elliott will be ready to play Week 1 against the New York Giants. He hasn’t been with the Cowboys but has been training in Cabo with Marshall Faulk.
