The Dallas Cowboys are heading towards using the franchise tag on quarterback Dak Prescott.
Adam Schefter of ESPN hears while neither side wants the tag to come into play, it looks inevitable at this point due to the sides in disagreement over his value.
Both the Cowboys and Prescott want a long-term agreement to be signed but the value the team is willing to offer and what Prescott is willing to accept, varies greatly. While Dallas finished a disappointing 8-8 in 2019, Prescott had a career year in passing yards (4,902) and touchdown passes (30).
As of late last month, Prescott was still confident about a deal getting done.
