Fantasy Football – Waiver Wire Week 13 / The Regular Season Ends Edition

by

It’s week 13, the last regular season week for most fantasy leagues. That means there are a lot of players out there looking for help for their final playoff push.

This week’s edition will focus on available players who have favorable matchups for this week. Some may have value after yet some may not. If you’re looking for help later on and like one of these names, make sure to look at their remaining schedule to see if they’re worth the add.

Quarterback

Nick Foles – The Jaguars QB hasn’t had any earth shattering performances in his short season. He will be facing Tampa Bay’s secondary who have given up the second most points to opposing QB’s this year.

Andy Dalton – Yes the same Andy Dalton who just got his job back. When you look at Dalton’s scoring this year he’s actually produced decent fantasy figures. He returns to face the Jets.

Running Back

Jonathan WilliamsMarlon Mack will likely sit again this week so Williams should feed on the Titans defense. If you pick him up keep an eye on Mack’s availability.

Darrell Williams – Another RB who may start. He’s in a crowded backfield but with Damien Williams possibly out again and LeSean McCoy on his “snap count”, Darrell could have a big game.

Chase Edmonds – This one is the riskiest of my three RB’s this week. Edmonds is on track to return for the Cardinals and will mix in with Kenyan Drake and David Johnson. Don’t forget Edmonds had 3 big games for Arizona before getting hurt. Drake will likely start and Johnson doesn’t look like he can do much right now, if Edmonds explodes early he could take over for another huge game. Look at him as a high risk/reward player if you need one.

Wide Receiver

Sterling Shepard – Just when Shepard returns from his concussion, Golden Tate goes out with one. Shepard doesn’t have the best matchup with Green Bay but should Tate miss he will have a lot of targets working in the slot.

Will Fuller – The boom or bust WR boomed last week for 7/140. This is not a match up pick, with him facing New England it is a long shot he will have a repeat week. He’s a long shot to blow up but if you need a low floor guy that can explode, Fuller is your guy.

Mecole Hardman – Hardman has emerged as KC’s number 2 WR. He only had 2 grabs on 4 targets before the bye but played 76% of the snaps. The Chiefs have the Raiders this week and Tyreek Hill is questionable.

Tight End

David Njoku – Njoku returned to practice last week and is questionable for this week. If he returns he will join a Brown’s offense that is finally firing on all cylinders.

Ryan Griffin – Last week the Jets inked Griffin to a contract extension and he rewarded them with another touchdown. The Bengals D is a middle of the road D for tight ends but Griffin has stepped up to be more than a streamer at this point.

Defense

Philadelphia – The Eagles defense exposed Russell Wilson for the first time last week. Their secondary is healthy for the first time and their defensive front is top tier. With Miami on deck this week and soft opponents the following 2 weeks, Philadelphia could be a big time add this week.
