Fantasy Football – Waiver Wire Week 3 / The Quarterback Edition

Week 2 was a horrible week for quarterbacks and their fantasy owners. Drew Brees is out 6-8 weeks with a hand injury, Ben Roethlisberger is lost for the season, Sam Darnold will miss multiple weeks with mono, and now Cam Newton is mysteriously out of practice. Here is a quarterback heavy edition of our waiver wire to help you through this week and beyond.

Quarterback

Mason Rudolph – With Big Ben out the Steelers will have the promising rookie Rudolph fill in. He looked great in preseason and was very accurate against Seattle’s defense throwing 12-for-19 for 112 yards and 2 TD’s. He has tremendous upside in a solid Steeler defense.

Jimmy Garoppolo – Jimmy G shredded Cincinnati last week and will look to build on his performance against a Pittsburgh defense that gave up 3 TD’s to Russell Wilson.

Andy Dalton – Say what you want about Dalton but he has been very good to start the season and that has been without A.J. Green. Green is on the mend and will be back soon to elevate Dalton further.

Daniel Jones – Good bye Eli Manning, hello Daniel Jones. Finally Inaccurate Eli is benched and Giants fans have a reason to be optimistic. I wouldn’t play Jones this week with Sterling Shepard possibly out again with a concussion. I would pick him up and stash him. He has a couple weapons coming back soon.

Running Back

Carlos Hyde – 20 touches in week 2 compared to Duke Johnson‘s 6. Hyde is looking good and should be rostered.

Raheem Mosert – With Tevin Coleman out Mosert stepped in as the 1B. He caught 3 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown and ran 13 times for 83 yards.

Wide Receiver

Randall CobbMichael Gallup will miss 2-4 weeks with knee surgery so look for Cobb to take on a larger role in the Cowboy’s offense.

Sterling Shepard / Golden Tate – See my note above about Daniel Jones. Shepard may still be out with his concussion and Tate is suspended until week 5 but now is the time to grab these guys. Be one step ahead of the rest of your league and roster these guys now.

Tight End

Will Dissly – He was one my guys to get before week 1 started, after his week 2 performance it might be now or never if you want him. Dissly is a big red zone target for Russell Wilson and will continue to make big plays.
