Fantasy Football – Waiver Wire Week 5 / The Suspended TE Edition

The first month of the season is over. How is your team doing? Are you 4-0? 0-4? IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOUR RECORD IS!

Sorry, channeling my inner Rock. What I meant to say is whether you are undefeated or in last place you always need to pay attention to the waiver wire. We’ve seen the breakouts of guys I’ve talked about like Will Dissly. I’ve covered some guys to get before you get beat to the punch like Golden Tate. Here are this weeks cast of players you should pay attention to for your fantasy team.

Quarterback

Jacoby Brissett – Andrew Luck who? Okay, not quite but Brissett has been really good this year. He has been a top 10 QB this season and has a soft matchup against Kansas City this week.

Gardner Minshew Minshew is playing well and having a lot of fun doing so. Believe it or not an often overlooked part of success is enjoying what you’re doing. This has been a big key to the young Jaguar’s success, it shows his mental toughness and love for the game. He has another tough matchup this week against Carolina but put up solid numbers against similar defenses the last 2 weeks.

Running Back

Ronald Jones II – He was mentioned last week and will be picked up by someone in your league this week. Hopefully it will be you. Jones has taken over as the guy in Tampa and should be putting up RB2 numbers the rest of the year.

Devin Singletary – The Bills rookie will likely be back this week against Tennessee. He will still split time with the immortal Frank Gore but is the back to own in Buffalo.

Wide Receiver

Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling – Davante Adams will miss a little time with turf toe and both Green Bay receivers will get a bump in value. MVS will likely have the greater value shift while Adams is out.

Mohamed SanuSanu is a guy that seems to always seems to sneak up on fantasy players even though he gets it done every year. He has one more reception than fellow Falcon Julio Jones and a safe floor the rest of the way.

Tight End

Chris Herndon – Going into the last week of his suspension now is the time to grab Herndon. He played very well last year and tight end is always a position of need. When he returns it will likely be along side quarterback Sam Darnold. Herndon will be more than a streamer when he returns.

Ben Watson – Tom Brady has not been throwing to a tight end this year but this is because he hasn’t had one to throw to, until now. Like Herndon, Watson is coming off of suspension but will be in the powerful Patriots offense.

Defense

Philadelphia Eagles – Philly has a dream matchup against the struggling Jets who will be without their quarterback again this week. They are a great streamer option this week
