Freddie Kitchens Will Likely Remain Browns Coach Next Season

by

This season hasn’t gone according to plan for the Cleveland Browns.

After an offseason of major acquisitions, many fans expected the Browns to be contenders for the Super Bowl. However, heading into Week 15 they sit at 6-7 going into a game against the 3-9-1 Arizona Cardinals. There continues to be a lot of speculation about the future of first-year head coach Freddie Kitchens given the team has underperformed.

Kitchens does continue to have the support of Browns management and barring a horrific collapse or circumstance to end the season, he is primed to retain his position next season. The team is 4-1 over their last five games, which has gone a long way in helping Kitchens save his job. The team understands he isn’t the finished product, something they knew when they hired him.

The plan is for Kitchens to lead the Browns into 2020 and beyond.
