With starting QB Nick Foles headed for the IR, the Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to trade a 2020 5th round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for 3rd string QB Josh Dobbs. Ian Rapoport broke the news.
Dobbs has been a solid backup option for Ben Roethlisberger but lost out to the promising young Mason Rudolph. The Steelers have have had a lot of trade interest for Dobbs, Foles’ injury triggered the deal they have been looking for.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Gardner Minshew will step in to start for Jacksonville with Dobbs backing him up.
