A lot has been written about why Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey requested a trade. Everything from he was unhappy with how the team was using him to the sideline blowup with head coach Doug Marrone. Ramsey, while appearing on Uninterrupted “17 Weeks” podcast with Nate Burleson explained in his own words why he requested a trade.
“Requesting the trade was something that has kind of been building for over a little bit of time,” Ramsey told Burleson h/t BigCatCountry. “It has nothing to do with my teammates here, it has nothing to do with the city.”
“It was more about the front office and the organization,” Ramsey continued. “I called my agent after the game.”
“Some disrespectful things were said on their (Jacksonville) end that made me definitely walk out and call my agent as soon as I walked out,” Ramsey said. “I said, ‘It is time. My time is up here in Jacksonville. I want to ask for a trade.’”
Ramsey clarified he didn’t care about the altercation with Marrone and things like that happen in the NFL.
Ramsey is currently on the field for the Jaguars in their Week 3 game against the Titans. The target date for a potential trade is Friday, as the Jags are seeking two first-round picks in exchange for him.
