Jets head coach Adam Gase acknowledged today that CB Trumaine Johnson hasn’t worked out.
“I was, I was. It just hasn’t worked out as well as we need it to. The good thing is we have a long ways to go,” Gase said via Pro Football Talk.
Johnson, who signed a five-year $72 million contract with the Jets last year, has been benched. Up until today, Gase had been optimistic about his ability to help the Jets win games.
Given the extensive contract, it would be difficult for the Jets to cut him this year or even next. So while there is time to figure things out, the contract looks horrible on paper.
