Jets QB Trevor Siemian Out For Season With Ankle Injury

Jets QB Trevor Siemian is done for the year following an ankle injury he suffered during the Jets’ Monday Night Football loss against the Browns, head coach Adam Gase announced.

Siemian, who was starting for QB Sam Darnold, who has mono, went down when his lower leg collapsed under his own weight as he was being tackled. He suffered ligament damage that will require surgery.

The Jets will place him on injured reserve and will look to sign another quarterback.

Luke Falk is slated to start for the Jets moving forward until Darnold is ready to return. Darnold could be facing a three to seven week absence, as of last week.

The Jets are 0-2 headed into Sunday’s Week 3 matchup against the Patriots.
