Jordan Howard Not Expected To Play, David Johnson Relegated To Backup, Peterson Starting

– Eagles running back Jordan Howard is not expected to play today against the Patriots due to a shoulder injury. The workload should be split by Miles Sanders and Boston Scott with Jay Ajayi also being active. Ajayi should see some carries as well with fresh legs in what will be his first game back from a torn ACL after signing with the Eagles last week.

David Johnson could be relegated to a backup role for the Cardinals due to his struggles this season. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury has said it will be running back by committee. Kenyan Drake is expected to get the bulk of the work.

Adrian Peterson is expected to start today for the Redskins against the Jets, with Derrius Guice getting carries and catches on third down. Guice’s role could grow but it’s not a situation where Peterson is going to be inactive like was the case when Jay Gruden was coach.
