Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford could be out for six more weeks due to fractured bones in his back.
While he may not miss the next six games, the fact he’s dealing with a six-week injury shows just how much pain he was trying to play through before team doctors shut him down for last week’s Week 10 game against the Bears.
Stafford is scheduled for more imaging this week to obtain a more accurate return timeframe. There is a chance he could return as soon as next week’s game against the Redskins, but it doesn’t seem likely.
The Lions currently sit at 3-5-1 and are in last place in the NFC North.
