There were offseason rumblings that Melvin Gordon was going to hold out like Le’Veon Bell did last season. After sitting out for the first few weeks Melvin Gordon threw in the towel and returned to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Adam Schefter reports the cost of Gordon’s holdout is a possible $1.2 million in fines and $989k in lost base salary.
Gordon will earn a salary $4.6 million for the rest of the year. He does not plan on resigning with the Chargers at the end of the season.
He will suit up next week versus the Denver Broncos.
