MRI Comes Back Clean On Jets RB Le’Veon Bell; Status Uncertain

New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell has no structural damage in his injured shoulder, according to Jeremy Fowler.

Bell missed practice on Thursday due to the injury as the team sent him for an MRI, per Fowler. Bell suffered the injury in his team’s Week 1 loss against the Buffalo Bills. The MRI was done to rule out major damage and/or tears and was mostly conducted as a precautionary measure.

Jets head coach Adam Gase said Bell’s status for Monday’s game against the Browns is still undetermined.

“I’m really not sure,” Gase said per SI when asked about Bell’s status and the extent of his shoulder injury. “This could be just soreness. We don’t think it’s anything worse than that, but we’re probably just being a little extra cautious.”

Should Bell be unable to go, Ty Montgomery would slot in as the Jets starter at running back.
