San Franciso 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa, who has been dealing with a high-ankle sprain, has a 50-50 chance of playing in the team’s season opener at Tampa Bay on Sept. 8, per Eric Branch.

“He’s coming along really well,” 49ers General Manager John Lynch said on KNBR. “I think, truly, (him playing in) Week 1, that’s, I don’t know, 50-50. But it’s going to be touch and go as to whether he makes it.”

Bosa, the second overall pick in this year’s draft, was seen walking through the locker room and is out of a walking boot. He also had a hamstring injury that limited him most of the offseason.

Should Bosa receive clearance to play in Week 1, his snaps could be limited.
