Jaguars QB Nick Foles will not be on the sidelines for today’s Week 2 game against the Texans, reports Ian Rapoport.
Doctors would not clear Foles to travel after undergoing surgery to repair his broken collarbone. The belief is he will be able to return Week 11 against the Colts, which is the soonest possible date after the Jaguars placed him in injured reserve.
Rapoport notes Foles had a plate and screws inserted to fix his clavicle to ensure long-term health. It was a clean, straightforward break. He will undergo multiple scans before returning to the field, with all parties concerned about the risk of a re-break.
In the meantime, Gardner Minshew II will start at QB for the Jags.
