Giants head coach Pat Shurmur is not expected to be fired before the end of the 2019 season. Word is that he also will not be forced to make any changes to his staff, meaning James Bettcher is safe as defensive coordinator.
While 2019 has been disappointing for Shurmur and the Giants with two wins and nine losses, there has been a positive with the development of rookie QB Daniel Jones. Jones has struggled with turnovers, which can be expected out of a rookie, but he is believed to be a legitimate franchise quarterback.
General Manager Dave Gettleman’s future will also be under review during the offseason but his decision to draft Jones should work in his favor.
The 2-7 Giants are on bye this week but will face the Bears at home on 11/24.
