The Jets placed tight end Chris Herndon on injured reserve on Tuesday, officially ending his 2019 season.
Herndon is a high upside talent but the season has just not gone according to plan. He only caught one pass in one appearance. He was suspended for the first four games of the season, injured his hamstring and then suffered a rib injury in Week 10.
Herndon, 23, was drafted in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and caught 39 passes in 16 games last season. Ryan Griffin will handle the starting TE duties for the Jets for the remainder of the season.
