Patrick Peterson Open To Contract Extension With Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson has one year remaining on the five-year, $70 million contract extension he signed in 2015 and sounds like he’s ready to talk another extension.

When asked if he and the team had discussed an extension while speaking with reporters on Thursday, Peterson stated they haven’t had talks yet.

“Nah, no talks as of yet,’” he said. “We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds.”

When asked if he’s willing to talk now he commented, “I mean, I’m always up for contract negotiations. But no talks have happened just yet. I’m just looking forward to finishing the season off strong.”

Peterson was strongly linked in trade rumors leading up to this year’s trade deadline but the team obviously didn’t move him.

The 3-7-1 Cardinals host the 6-5 Rams at home on Sunday.
