The Atlanta Falcons do not plan on shutting down quarterback Matt Ryan or wide receiver Julio Jones for the season following the team’s 18-26 loss to the Saints.
Head coach Dan Quinn stated the following after the loss, which dropped the Falcons to 3-9 on the season:
“I recognize fair question, but no. Part of playing and competing is going for it in the biggest way. So we’ll always take that approach. Now for a player that is injured like Julio (shoulder), but not just him, for any of the players, to make sure, we’re always gonna make the best decisions for them.”
Jones did not play on Thursday due to a shoulder injury. Ryan, who was coming back from a high-ankle sprain, played and was sacked nine times.
