San Diego Charger Russell Okung recently revealed via his Twitter account he has been out due to a pulmonary embolism caused by blood clots. On June 1st the starting left tackle went to urgent care after having unusual chest pains. It was a good thing he went since his doctors said going likely saved his life.
Even though Okung says he is feeling fine, Eric Williams reports the Chargers will be holding their left tackle out for at least week 1. It is a serious medical condition and it’s great to see San Diego taking necessary precautions for their players health.
Trent Scott, a second year UDFA will fill in until Okung is ready to come back.
