Former NFL wide receiver Terrelle Pryor has been arrested and charged with Simple Assault.
As previously reported here on NFLNews.co, Pryor was in critical condition after undergoing surgery on Saturday morning for injuries to his shoulder and chest after being stabbed. His condition was later upgraded to stable.
Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at 4:16 AM EST at the Heinz Lofts apartment complex on Saturday morning. When police arrived, they met with two callers, who reported a large amount of blood in the elevator. They were later notified that Pryor, who had been stabbed, had arrived at UPMC Mercy Hospital.
Pryor was rushed to the hospital by his girlfriend Shalaya Briston and two other women. Apparently one of the women said: “The only reason I’m here was to make sure that he didn’t die” and “We should have just let him die.”
Pryor and Briston were involved in verbal arguments on Friday night. Pryor left Briston and the two other women to go back to the apartment when they went to a nightclub. When the women returned to the apartment, Pryor allegedly grabbed Briston and began arguing with her.
That’s when the former NFL talent allegedly hit one of the other women. From that point, the other women were trying to break up the fight before Pryor was allegedly stabbed by Briston.
Police noticed that two of Briston’s false fingernails were missing and there was a bruise on her nose. Police believe this occurred during her fight with Pryor. Briston was also arrested and charged with Criminal Attempt Homicide and Aggravated Assault.
Pryor and Briston lived together at the apartment complex.
