Oakland Raiders linebacker Vontaze Burfict has been suspended for the remainder of the season due to his repeated unnecessary roughness violations. The latest was helmet-to-helmet hit on Sunday against Colts tight end Jack Doyle. Chris Mortensen broke the news.

We previously detailed here the amount of fines and suspensions Burfict has tallied up prior to this suspension. Now he is looking at a combination of 22 games and over $5 million in fines and lost wages.
Burfict plans to appeal the suspension but he shouldn’t hold his breath.
