Amari Cooper Wants To Remain In Dallas, Knee Injury Minor

Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper spoke to reporters about his contract situation and his desire to remain in Dallas on Monday.

“Like I just said, I love it here,” Cooper said h/t DallasCowboys.com. “I want to be here. I just love this situation, my teammates. I just feel it’s the place for me.”

Cooper, who the Cowboys traded a first-round pick for last season, explained how he’s approached the situation.

“I’ve approached the situation like, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” he said. “Obviously, I’m more productive here than I was in Oakland, so why would I want to change things?”

In an unrelated note, Cooper had an MRI on his knee that revealed no structural damage. He was surprised how much the pain subsided the day after suffering the injury.

“I thought it was pretty bad. I thought it would linger,” he said. “It’s healed better than I thought it would.”

Cooper practiced in full on Monday.
