The Chargers have designated defensive back Adrian Phillips for return from the injured reserve list.
Phillips broke his forearm in a September loss to the Lions. He’ll now have a three-week window to practice and get ready to return. If the Chargers do not activate him in that timeframe, he will not be able to return this season.
Phillips made the Pro Bowl last year, the first of his career.
The Chargers are going to need all the help they can get as last Thursday’s loss to the Raiders has them at 4-6 and falling out of the playoff race. They’ll face the Chiefs in Week 11 on Monday night in Mexico.
