Giants WR Sterling Shepard Getting Close To Clearing Concussion Protocol

New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur told reporters on Thursday that WR Sterling Shepard is getting close to clearing the league’s concussion protocol and sounded optimistic about him playing on Sunday, reports Art Stapleton.

Shepard suffered the injury in Week 1 against the Cowboys but remained in the game. This caused a complete review of the NFL’s concussion policy. He did not play in Week 2 against the Bills.

Against the Cowboys, Shepard caught six passes on seven targets for 42 yards.
